When Gareth Jones originally went to the Soviet Union, for the first couple of days he was treated to all of the luxuries that Russia proper had to provide. That was before he exposed The Holodomor, which showed that the Soviets were hiding the Ukrainian genocide to bolster their unpredicted grain production.
We're seeing the makings of that in the USA right here, right now. Every week, the well to do and their compatriots seem to engage in this behavior. It's not just "Freedom for me but not for thee." It's that these people are welcoming the connected to break the law while leaving everybody else in squalor.
