Why Is Light Work So On Trend? Holy Day 6; Contemplation on light-colour-darkness.

Now is the time for renewal! Time to break out of the dirty grey-yellow shell of the intellect and reach for the golden light. What we call intelligence today is artificial and designed to make heads and tails of surface structures. Polish the stone for a smooth surface; then split it open to find more surface to polish.

Part One

Intelligence is the key to consciousness. It wakes us up and enables us to discriminate, discern, descry, distinguish, determine: work with the dyad, the duality and the dichotomy that is the interaction of light and darkness.

In our neon and plasma world, however, the light that is our friend, our protector, our creative means, and knowledgeable one (think of lamps indoors and out, lasers, and computer screens), is no longer spiritual but artificial. It’s that plain to state.

The counter-movement from those who want to move out of the head and re-approach the heart is to seek the True Light by freeing oneself from density (matter and matters). This is much older than the Silk road, the road to Damascus, or even Stone Henge. The yearning for the freedom that the light promised was probably greater than it is now, the closer we get to the Ancient Egyptians, Mesopotamians, or Indus Valley settlers. These peoples were much less sure-footed upon this planet than us quick-witted ones, jumping on planes, jumping back out of them, rocketing up to the moon (and back again) and whizzing past Pluto.

Our salvation, however, never did, still doesn’t and never will lie in the assumption of our soul into the Great Light. That would be anihilation. Enlightenment is a more subtle and, above all, colourful affair.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John, 1. 1-5)

The light is a giant sword of pure consciousness. Invisible. Unknowable. Terrifying in its all-consumingness. It is that which comes out of the Logos, the Word that was spoken (See Gospel of John,Ch.1.). It is sent out into, until it is sending itself, on its own momentum. It thinks. That’s what it does, non-doingly. Pure Thinking (not like we think we know it). As such, beaming forth, it shines on, runs on, flows on, floods, slices through the eternal air-space stopping at nothing till it hits time. Then its will becomes apparent, it starts to know itself, it begins to want and reflects the Word.

Before then (literally “then” as in “Then it was light”), that first moment in time, the light did not even “do” at all (no flowing through… what? No flooding into…what? No slicing up of…what?). Doing=willing. Light doesn’t will a thing, it literally doesn’t want anything. It has no intent. It is not God’s Will. But it can do God's Will. Words create realities. This Will is not knowable (the thinker cannot think himself) untill it meets the darkness, giving it something/stuff (substance) to do.

Time is the Great Transformer, the process of darkness meeting light. Darkness is its match! Now the light can stop to reflect. It shows up in the mirror of darkness. It becomes!

Darkness is an equally powerful if subconscious force of will. Darkness is Willing (to do). When they meet and (actually) make love we get colour. This play of love is all the music that can ever be heard, and the cosmic hierarchies take some of it and compose harmonies in the keys of life. These frameworks of being are trickled in a myriad rainbow modulations laying out varied patterns of the formative forces of fire, water, air and earth, which inspires nature (her inbreath) to clothe in substance. It is for us to see and hear the harmonies that are packaged in this matter. It is for us to see Gaia dance to the time of life.

Life is colour. Colour is soul. Soul needs life to love its own self into being.

We are all born to dance. I love how our current rave parties with this non-music of trance beats shows up how far we have (not) come yet. We are still only limbering up. Half of us are knee-deep in dense darkness, stomping around. The other half are tumbling and somersaulting as if caught up in a whirlwind. These are the two forces of the Opposition (to our Evolution) at play (Ahriman and Lucifer). Christ meets with them in the wilderness, this barren, rocky, austere place he sits in for a good, long feel.

That feeling modus attracts the Asuras like flies if you aren’t careful (or want them to come so that you get to study them up close). To be better safe than sorry, always encapsulate that feeling with level-headed thinking and concrete plans of action. Keep the Sanctum Sanctorium of the heart sacred.

This is my message for Holy Day 6, by the way, inspired by some writing by Kristina Kaine on the Holy Nights, from some years back. She speaks of “consecrating the sword”. This connotes always for me much ado about Avalon, with ladies in lakes and Excaliber stuck in a stone. The Round Table of Arthur has much to inspire us with, as a Mystery Centre or “anchor point” (place holder for Truth) with its Mystery of Healing (the Fisher King). But it has become tricky to read these mysteries correctly, without sentiment and nostalgia, and with the right attitude to wielding the sword.

“To consecrate the sword means to hold sacred our human will”, Kaine writes. Since the Fall (out of the Lemurian Age) man has free will: he can want what he wants. But how to know what to want? This is to learn to paint your life in accord with Divine Will. Then your needs reveal themselves in the most translucent colour. You start to develop the cornerstones of the New City for Man (the 12 gems in Revelations). Qualities of soul elevated by spirit light, consolidated by earth experience.

This work is of individuals but not for them. We are running the risk of overshooting the mark of the individualisation process. There is no greater individualist than myself, I am maybe even a lone-wolf, but even I recognise the purpose is to build stronger communities and for each of us to feel a responsibility for every single soul alive or not yet born. There are however priorities and limits to be set and strict calls to be made. We can’t just “love the whole world” and keep our fingers crossed.

The work of light-colour-darkness is a labour of love full of sacrifice and sorrow: this is the passion and the agony of renewal. It requires great intelligence (of a particualr sensitive nature) and tremendous, unprecedented courage (noble hearts: “coeur”/courtly love).

Part Two

For the dance of life we need darkness, and of darkness we have aplenty! That’s the Good News, and all the goodness and all the news.

The Egyptians had their “kemi” or black earth, and the Ancient Indians their blue/black “Mahakali” Selfish-Ego-destroying Goddess. Darkness is good. It is also evil. It all depends on whether you are awake or asleep. If we walk through life to escape it, turn into zombies to pretend we are unafeared (totally unnatural state!), we will find no rest at night, suffocated by the darkness (making insomnia the illness of our age and the further cause of neurosis).

*4 While the tiger sleeps…. Thirsty foxes…. Burn, baby, burn….

In darkness we work towards the future. We push it up against the inviting light (at the end of our tunnel vision). And work it into the colours we need.

We are quick to become enthused by so-called light-work (known under a plethora of other names, usually all pointing up, up and away from this ominous morass of our current times). Note that the “theos” in the word “enthusiasm” has become rather obscure in our times. Before you know it you may be following a lesser deity into a dark woodland upon an astral plane of no return….

*5

You don’t want to give up the ghost too soon; so sometimes, it is best to let sleeping dogs die. I don’t mean you ought to fear for your life, but leave well enough alone to be kindly supportive to the darkness that can carry consciousness out into a place where it may better develop. No point sowing beans in the Saharah. Some souls cannot be helped, now, by us, here. We can try to commend them to an Archangel of light (Michael, Uriel, or Raphael for healing specifically) or to the All-Father or His Son, more generally. Where does that leave these wretched souls? That is a matter of trust and seeing for yourself.

The young and cynical have little doing with such advice, is my experience. They love a bit of bombastic and need gilded promises to egg them on. But once the rewards will be slow in coming they tend to have nowhere to go but to sink into a quagmire of regret and delusion. This is what makes me a bit of an up-the-ante-aunt on this subject of too many floppy bringers of good news. It simply takes much stumbling and some hard crashes to humble the soul and get it into proper working shape. It is why we often find the most spiritual people amongst the more unlikely and tougher exteriors of the street-wise or the rather covert silent ones. We tend to be beguiled by glitter and glamour (either perfect teeth, or Tibetan heights).

Sadly, the majority of ‘light-workers”, channelers and healers give spiritual science a bad reputation with their here-today-gone-tomorrow, happy-go-lucky approach. Often their own survival instinct simply gets in the way of delivering meaningful contributions to humanity. Often there is too much wanting and not enough learning. Or fundamentally, a hunger for recognition and validation (little ego needing mummy). On a fed-up day, I would go so far as to smack back a full 95% of all “spiritual work” as a nice hobby for bored housewives or a tidy business venture for jaunty beach loafers. Then again, we are all only trying to do our bit as best we can, so pats on the backs to all (after that smack). It all, probably, says more about my impatience than their vanity.

Conclusion

Where there is too much spirit (or “ghost” as in Holy Ghost) (yes, there is such a thing as too much spirit-light for us earthlings) it supplants all life with blazing, blinding, stultifying light.

There is no such place for this kind of stark “pure” light on our planet. Even the light trapped in a crystal is nuanced by the density (i.e. darkness) of matter. Over every bright sky, there is always a “veil” of atmosphere. In the desert, you still get some shadow play off the dues, and a critter might yet scramble by on its tippy toes once the sand cools down again and the dark of night falls.

Colour is soul-experience and soul is life, life is colour. It is soul (astrality) that weaves upon the etheric warp, of formative forces. We must not only aspire to the blinding light of enlightenment, but find a more suitable satori by dancing in colours, speaking in verse, lyrically, passionately; by being a colourful character.

At Christmas we try to imagine the light that will shine from within. We allow ourselves to connect to angelic choirs, and to imagine the Light Event of the birth of Jesus. This is a Diwali festival but then poured into a format that is supposed to appeal more strongly to personal free-will.

It is relevant and soul-saving to fill your life up with music, dance, poetry, living, growing, breathing. Sit or run, but do so colourfully. Wear neon leggings or indigo robes, it doesn’t matter, as long as you love what you are doing: that’s where the colour comes from. What you do is but different strokes for the same celestial harmonies. Only, make sure you keep your paintbrush clean for the true yellow brick road.

Hi Sister,

510D1685-D2F0-4AEE-A798-F204AE20D10A.jpeg

This season is truly a festival of light. When we see the light we recognize light in ourself, pure divine essence. Light is not affected by darkness, light is the highest divine truth that we are. We recognize this intuitively when we see a christmas tree or beautiful fireworks.

In the light of truth darkness doesn’t exist but there is another subtle realm where it SEEMS TO exist. This is similar to the dream state, many call it the astral field.

When people talk about the Soul, Soul-mates, Twin Flame, Soul Journey etc. they mostly talk about the subtle realm. Here are subtle forces, battles between light and dark that are fascinating yet illusory.

I’m not saying to shy away from darkness, because we must not be afraid of our demons when we have the opportunity to face them. Sometimes going through the dark, (rather than avoiding it) is our liberation.

My point is that when we WORSHIP the dark, we are IN OUR OWN WAY in trying to resolve it. Only when we see the truth that light is our true nature, we can go to the depths of darkness without getting stuck in an illusion

Darkness just is. Or you couldn't see the light. We can only look at what is as informed by our (12) senses. Then the higher senses take over to make sense. Darkness is literally something that can be viewed, seen, and in it work the highest hierarchies. There is no need to worship them!
In painting therapy darkness is our paint. With it we show up our willing force. It teaches the eye of the heart to see without judgement of good/evil (this exists only in the dream state or astral travel). In the light of truth you wouldn't exist! Impossible to "shy away from darkness". You have to be darkness in order to speak the truth. You speak of light and darkness quite abstractly, most spiritual people do. They hover over the bridge of colour or leave it as a rainbow in the sky. Where is the pot of gold? A spirit once communicated to a sage, that he regretted not counting his steps up the stairs more thoughtfully. Now he found himself stuck in the lobby of a castle, clueless how to climb up to the first floor where the party seemed to be going on.... Live the colours! That's the realm for human souls.
