Creating Elite Players: Newsletter Day 43

Port Coquitlam feels like a warm blanket. I don't know why that's the case, but I find it so calming to be here. It's quiet and relaxing, almost as if the storm I've endured has all but faded. I've been focusing on my substantial workload, mostly without interruption.

Spending time with the kittens in Vancouver was also healing, sure, but it was also there that I found out I was being sued. So, as much as it was a sanctuary, it ended up being the catalyst for a rude awakening as well. There's a different quality of healing I'm basking in now.

Today, I went to a pre-scheduled viewing of a basement suite just six minutes away by car. These people were not crazy. They weren't fake, and they also weren't assholes like some of the idiots I've encountered on Facebook. The landlords are obviously trying to do everything by the books, which is refreshing and reassuring to me as a potential tenant. At this point, I would be forced to walk away from any offer that didn't seem right.

I'm surprised by how many landlords are trying to / think they can fly by the seat of their pants. British Columbia, I'm sad to say, is not friendly to landlords. All the power lies in the hands of the tenant. If you step out of the lines and are reported, you could end up with some hefty fees. But it's not my problem, and it's mostly an upstream thought.

Either way, I can't seem to shake the feeling that I'll be staying here for a while. I don't know how yet, but of course, I don't need to know how. That's for God or the universe to figure out.
