4 DIY Natural Cleaners for Deep Kitchen Cleaning

Some people pay lots of attention to the cleaning of their kitchen, and some just don’t have the time to take regular care of this room of the house. But even if you clean up the counter after each meal and you wash your dishes regularly, your kitchen will still need a deep clean from time to time. Grease and food splatters stick to practically everything, including the floor. And let’s not even start with all the germs and contaminants that come out from the leaks in your refrigerator or inside the dishwasher. Nobody likes a dirty kitchen, because this is where all the food is stored in a house, so it needs to be clean. And most commercial cleaners are full of toxics, which can probably harm you more than help you. Asthma and allergies can be one of your last problems. Fortunately, there are many green house cleaning options, which can help you achieve the same quality results as regular cleaners. Here are a few suggestions:

Natural refrigerator cleaner. The fridge is one of the most neglected places in almost every kitchen. Not many people remember to clean it at least once a week. So, first turn the fridge off, remove all the food and drinks from it, until all that’s left inside are the racks. This will also give you the chance to determine which foods are expired or going bad, so you can get rid of them. Then you can take out all the shelves from the inside and scrub them separately using a natural soap or a washing liquid of sorts. The rest of the fridge should be cleaned with the following solutions:

  • 2 cups of hot water
  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 10 drops of essential oil of choice

Combine all these ingredients in a spray bottle, shake it, spray the inside of the fridge, get a cloth and wipe it thoroughly. Once it dries, place everything back and turn it on again.

Natural oven cleaner. Many commercial oven cleaning solutions contain serious toxins and carcinogens, which can cause respiratory issues and illnesses. On the other hand, they also make the food taste weird the next couple of times you use the oven. If you want a clean and sparkling oven without any complications and side effects, you should get some baking soda, a spray bottle filled with vinegar and a scrub brush. Place the baking soda inside the oven, spray it with vinegar, wait for half an hour at least, and then scrub. All the dirt should come off easily.

Kitchen floor cleaner. The kitchen floor sees a lot of traffic every single day. And if you have pets, the amount of dirt becomes even bigger. Shoes and paws bring all kinds of dirt and germs from outside, and all that combined with the food and grease spills can make the cleaning very difficult. This is why daily mopping of the surface is recommended. And if you want to disinfect it and remove stubborn stains, you should try this basic floor cleaner recipe. All you need to do is mix 1 part hot water and 1 part white vinegar into a bucket, get a mop, dip it and clean! This natural cleaning solution is perfect for all kinds of sealed wood, tile, linoleum and laminate floors. And for a good polish on a wood floor, you’ll need to mix half a cup of olive oil and half a cup of lemon juice into a bucket of water and mop.

An all-purpose spray. Most kitchen surfaces are made from durable materials, which can be cleaned on an everyday basis. Just get a clean rag and these ingredients:

  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 5 drops of essential oil

Mix all these ingredients in a spray bottle, shake it well and get to the cleaning. This solution is perfect for cleaning countertops, tables, appliances, the sink or even walls.
