What a huge difference in our home with keeping ourselves accountable now that we've had a few day of structure so let me explain these items first before adding educational items . Morning routines sets the tone for the day helping us control what we can and letting go of that which we cant,it's a very important life lesson, allows us to increase productivity, lower stress and prioritize our time. Then start the day off with breakfast to give us that energy, boost for our body and our brain power, and staggered snacks to keep that energy up,improve cognitive function, assist in keeping us in a positive mood, and focused.Lunch breaks allow our minds to rest and relax recharge and refocus and eatting healthy keeps your body motivated to keep going.supper keeps us fueled and motivated ,eatting healthy reduces stress and obesity, and the risk of cancer, improves our digestive system and allows us to sleep better over all.Bedtime routine is very important as it helps improve memory, attention span , flexibility and overall better oral health, having healthy sleeping habits. Now that these have been established we can add in more educational structure because the basic foundation has been set .
Baking or cooking with children is very important, yes it takes longer and sometimes more mess but the memories are forever. This helps with the childs vocabulary, fine motor skills, math, reading, science, basic life skills and hand eye coordination, most importantly family bonding.Stickers are amazing because they put smiles on kids faces, teaches them fine motor skills, encourages wrist movement and proper positioning for pencil holding ,hand eye coordination, visual appeal allows them to choose the ones they want which will help later in reading and writing, sensory issues(smooth,puffy,soft).screen/technology time is also important allows you to teach them cause and effect as well as reward systems, teaches them how to do research, improves motor skills and coordination, and a fun way to socially distance but still communicate effectively with others.Lego helps develop problem solving skills, focus, attention, touches on science, teaches symmetry, balance, shapes, fine motor skills, sharing and cooperation, builds story telling ability, self worth ,a sense of accomplishment, persistence.cars and trucks and dolls builds again on fine motor skills ,hand eye coordination, ability to work with others, teaches basics like how to pick things up,throw them, push and pull them by encouraging movement ,dolls also allows for greater understanding of themselves and those around them, social and emotional skills on how to interact with others, how to be a good "parent" through helping caring and nurturing skills.
