Homeschooling in the learning style best for your child

Education is not a one fits all approach, because not everyone learns in the same way, in fact science has classified seven learning styles. The Seven Learning Styles are:

Visual (spatial):You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding.
Aural (auditory-musical): You prefer using sound and music.
Verbal (linguistic): You prefer using words, both in speech and writing.
Physical (kinesthetic): You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch.
Logical (mathematical): You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems.
Social (interpersonal): You prefer to learn in groups or with other people.
Solitary (intrapersonal): You prefer to work alone and use self-study.

You can learn more about learning styles here at this link https://www.learning-styles-online.com/overview/

A person can also be a combination of two or more. In reality this is why public schools are failing so many families, because they teach in a one fits all approach and learning and life is not really like that. So how do we figure out how our child learns?
You can go through trial and error in your approach or you can do it the easy way and google a learning style test or go here and go through the questions with your child. https://www.learning-styles-online.com/inventory/questions.php?cookieset=y

My son is a physical learner and that is why time4learning works well for him. If you want to know more about that curriculum you can go here to read my post about our experience with it. https://steemit.com/homeschool/@tecnosgirl/home-schooling-with-time4learning-an-online-curriculum

If you are new to home schooling, find out what your child's learning style is, and cater to that style it will be less stressful on you and your child and your child will learn more. But most of all if you are struggling because you feel your child isn't moving along the way they should, relax they will get there. And don't give up, try another approach, if one way isn't working, it is most likely the approach so be fluid and try something different.

And once you find a method that works, still with it till it doesn't work. And remember moms and dads you can do it, you are your child's first educator not the government ran schools, you taught them how to walk, talk, potty train, eat like civilized people. We teach them more than anyone gives parents credit for and we are their life long teachers. I am 39 years old and am lucky to have my father and mother both still around and I still learn things from them and likely will till they leave this earth.

I'm glad your parents are both alive and well. My son is almost 6 months so I will have to start thinking about this soon.

What ever you decide, public, private, charter, virtual or home schooling (yes there are a lot of choices now days) find out how your child learns, pay attention to how he picks up on things, because if someone else is educating your child is gonna have home work and if they struggle with traditional ways of learning, knowing what to use to tutor them can be the difference of them moving along or being left behind.

My mother taught me and my 3 siblings at home and we went on to public school but not until we were ready. My older sister learned at home until she was about 5, my older brother started public school when he was 10, my younger sister, 12, and I was 15 when I went from homeschool to high school.

Every kid is different and we learn differently and we learn visually and when we interact and do things. We learn better through games and we have to experiment to see which things work better for each person.

You are very lucky that your mom did that too many parents won't take the responsibility for it even though many times they would get a better education if they did.

And some do not understand that or know that and people are often busy with work and life and we often think we cannot learn better at home and people always say they cannot teach and do not know how to do that and were not trained. It is the same thing with doctors. We can all be doctors to some extent and doctors do not know everything either and we can do much better than we think with natural foods and remedies and sleep and nuts and fruits and beans and we can learn a lot even as we teach each other and stuff.

This Steemit website is an example of homeschool as we all learn and teach each other at home while online on this website or anywhere. Steemit is like an updated version of homeschool but not just for kids but also for old people too, ha ha, but really. That is awesome. Thanks for writing.

Yes it is I targeted children in this because of the home school topic, but I totally agree I have had experience being my own doctor more successfully I might add than doctors that paid to go to school, but using nature

and I try to eat garlic everyday
