Harvesting Elderberries

in homestead •  4 years ago

This year has been, well, it has been 2020, so nothing is normal. This years blackberry harvest did not go as planned, and now it is time for our Elderberry Harvest. This is a quick video of our first day harvesting and it was great to get back out into the wilderness areas of Idaho. Of course, with it being 2020, there is something not quite normal for this time of year...SMOKE. We are having to pick and choose when we go harvesting our berries due to the insane amount of smoke we are receiving from the fires to our west in Washington and Oregon.
