Best take out this tree before it takes out the corner of the house.... that was the idea behind chopping down this perfectly healthy cherry tree.
In fact this cherry tree was planted around the same time of my birth 26 years ago. It is odd to think that now I, all grown up, will be responsible for the cleanup of its corpse.
Not one bit of this tree will be wasted, like in years past, no. I will use this tree for good firewood this winter, logs for more mushroom production, and mulching material.
Cherry makes a great wood for smokers if you have one. If not I am sure someone would trade a good pile of firwood for it.
