πŸ” Well, every time I get near the chicken yard they are all over me, Literally! We have around 30 new young chicks at various ages and a handful of hens plus 1 rooster.

Here are the little ones in a separate area till they get a little older

The Mother hen is no longer with the chicks but still keeps a close eye on them

The next group of chicks are a few weeks older and a pain in the ass. They surround me when I get near, knowing food is coming. I have to shuffle my feet so I don't step on them while they peck at my legs and feet, even go as far as to climb up on me!

Here are a few hanging out in the egg-laying area

I finally got around to mounting the shade roof in the dog area of the chicken yard, Next will be a house for the dogs. This will be Tigra's place at night to warn of predators when a little older and Cheeta will be free to roam our yard. She doesn't even let friends come onto the property without a bunch of encouragement and maybe put on a chain. LOL

Johana puts them in the dog area in the day, but Cheeta is free to run and Tigra stays tied to her dog run at the house with a 70-foot long cable she can run along while I'm in Charge.

Next stop, The local sports field and bar to quench my thirst

πŸ… For the last 3 months on Sundays has been 4-5 ball games at the park, but 2 weeks ago that all ended with a season finishing at a week-long ball tournament in a nearby city. So bound to be lots of drinkers there today. Our Local bar is only open Saturday evenings and All day Sunday. Last week was a big festival in Ocu so when I walked down the boys were just leaving, having drunk all the beer but 2 which I quickly purchased. LOL

😎 It used to take me hours to do a blog this size, Now less that an hour. It will be high noon by the time I get to the watering hole. Cheers

Or, how about a chicken bog???

That is a lot of chickens you have there. You raise them to sell or just for your own consumption? My Sister wants to add a chicken coup so we can all have fresh eggs, but the Village doesn't allow them.

Enjoy the your beer!

Everything, my idea is 1-200 eggs per day will keep us through retirement pus my ability to do anything. This is for my wife only.
I have other ideas for me on the Pacific Ocean, where my true life is.
Cheers

That is an ambitious goal. A couple hundred eggs probably means lots a lot of work.

Not at all, some chickens lay 2-3 eggs per day. All you need to do is feed them lots. and pay for the right type, which I don't have. I'm evolving by learning, today is good, tomorrow gonna be great. LOL
Cheers

Didn't realize they laid that many eggs. Still a lot of chickens for 200 eggs, but I have no concept of how much work 1 chicken is, forget 50 or 75.

If you get a chance take a look at my last cooking with kids post.

BTW, will have another one going up that I will promote. If you get a vote in early you can earn some of the curation rewards. I've been using steemdunk for this and it's worth checking out for sure. That is why you get votes on 2 posts no matter what each day. Not sure if you care about the extra $, but it's easy rewards as I will be promoting posts going forward to grow my account.

Most chickens don't, there are 2 breeds that can, but have to be fed handsomely. I'm still learning as I go. the difference in price is $0.60 or $1.25 per chick. so I'll be all dialed in before going that route and get rid of the ones we have first. Nothing easier than raising chickens, I worked on my uncles farm as a kid and he raised 500,000 at a time in 2 two story buildings. Feed and water is all they need.
Cheers

500k that is crazy...wow.

It's all automated now. feed and water plus if even a light goes out the computer calls to let you know. But they still have to be Picked by hand when the truck arrives, 12 in a cage to the cleaning factory. That is hard skinky work all night long. Then clean and prep for the new batch coming in. 2-3 times a year.

It looks like you've found a great life out in Panama. I wish I had chickens :)

So far so good, but other things are bothering me today, so we will see. 8 Beer has helped. LOL

Cheers

Speaking of beer, this stuff in my fridge ain't going to drink itself! Time for me to get to work!

No truer words have been spoken, Enjoy :-) But calling drinking beer work? Only on a bad day maybe LOL
Cheers
