We have a lot of chickens here in our house.. but we lack cages for them.. So I came up with an idea! I'll make them one! Specially for the new hatched chick.
I gathered my saw and some thick and long wooden sticks, then cut it in eight pieces.
I guess I need more of it, so I got more just in case it is still needed
I cut a small part of its ends in half so that I can connect them together into a box
I used this tool to make it a bit smoother and straight
Here's the result!
So far these are my equipments, chisel, hammer, saw and the woods..
After that step I did, I connected four sticks to form a square shape.
I repeated the same step and made another square for the opposite side.
Next, I gathered thicker wood (two piece of 2x2) so I can cut thicker frames for the other sides.
Looks like im short in woods. I used this to make cutting the wood in half easier, the clamp do the holding while cutting im cutting it half.
Take a look, I already cut the wood into two. That took me a lot of time and arm/hand strength just to cut it.
I made a total of four of them.. It's kinda tiring to do this. But it would be worth it.
Then, I connected them to the first square frame.
.. then connected it to the other square frame I made.
Here's the result, I have now a 3D square frame.. and to make a cage, I need to add screens.
I used this nylon cable tie I bought to attach the screen into the frame.
I put the screen on the sides of the frame.
I then used this to cut the cable ties so it won't be that visible.
Here's the result, I have not cut the cable ties here yet.
After that, I put the chicken and her chick inside hahaha
And now they have their own cage!
