Spring Ahead!

Today I turned on the radio. The oldies are on Sunday mornings until noon! Although the music I listened to in public school is now considered oldies ;)
I digress.
On the news I heard that a dairy farmer is taking the government to task on the daylight savings time, because his cows are still trying to sleep when he tries to get them up for milking, because the truck comes an hour earlier!!
Apparently these cows are not cooperative with the government agenda of saving money on electricity.
Humans are good little soldiers, making the most out of the daylight.

We just did a little research. In Canada it started in 1908 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was adopted by most of Canada in 1915/1916. Pockets of Quebec, Ontario, most of Saskatchewan, and British Columbia do not observe DST.
We followed suit with the US
Only 40% of the globe uses DST.

Here...meh... we don't really care.

We still go with the moon and sun. It works for us ;)

Oh, humans, with our silly clocks. I'm lucky if I know what DAY it is, let alone the time!

I am so glad i am not the only one!! I lost a day this week, somewhere...lol

I see no point of changing it and it ruins many people's work for a week or so.

Totally agree! Doesn't matter if we "gain" or "lose" an hour - it's a total pain, on so many levels. Here's to hoping they finally get rid of it in the very near future!

In this day and age, I don't think we need to be changing the clocks for the benefit of big business. We did fine on running on sun time before...

I so agree. It truly doesn't effect us unless we have to be in town for something.

In Canada it started in 1908 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was adopted by most of Canada in 1915/1916.

And America adopted it during wartime too. That's why DST used to be called "war time."

I was just talking about that with my dad. He's the one that told me about it started because of war. Who knew??

The only reason I did was me seeing it in a Perry Mason novel written during WW2.

Yes! Interesting how things come to be
