Big rose - flower1 crop October 2019.jpg

A couple weeks ago my intern and I weeded, deadheaded, fed, and mulched the Big rose for the first time this year. It had many small blooms on it then. When I was walking the yard for photos of the addition, I noticed that the blooms had gotten much larger and more vibrant.

There weren’t as many blooms but they were the best ones of the season!

My son was out on Sunday and got a lot of the weedwacking done for the first time this year.

The east side of the Small garden was done too

We didn’t need to weedwack these areas because we had no animals on pasture, just the chickens. But normally they are kept neat so the electric fence works properly.

But not doing them meant I had wildflowers and “weeds” flowering along the driveway all summer. That was nice.

I finished all the windows that are getting done this time around. All the windows in the first addition (above) were done. In the original house, only the small windows in the bath and bedroom were done.

I put storms in the other windows that required them but didn’t clean them. They are all being moved in the next 2 months and it wasn’t worth the effort.
