My husband had to do the shortest of the cow moves one day in mid October while I was working in the Big garden. I got these photos of the move.

This move is about 150’ from one side of the yard to the other.

One of the reasons I was ready with the camera was the calf. She was learning a lot of new things as these were her first moves to new places. She was born August 31st.

She had never seen a pasture coop or chickens, or pigs. And she had to walk really close to the first 2.

But as all the others had walked calmly by, she followed suit. That had not always been the case. When she was in the front pasture, a UPS truck came up the driveway and she went through the fence.

But this move was uneventful and the cows were happy with new high grass.
