This one came from my mother-in-law
The catalpa tree had held most of these wind chimes for the best part of 20 years. When we took it down, I really missed the sounds.
From a tag sale
I started finding garden hooks at tag sales. The first 2 weren’t cheap, but the other 2 certainly were.
Another tag sale find that makes particularly lovely sounds
Another one from my mother-in-law
I’ve been enjoying the sounds through the open window in my office or bedroom.
Another tag sale find
I never thought this shell one would last very long but it’s been up at least 10 years.
One of the many tiny ones I have
From my mother-in-law
She must have had a lot of them hanging in front of her house in Florida.
I’ve had this one a very long time, and it’s rusty to prove it!
A Peace bell
I had a TimeBank worker come out many years ago. He made these bells, and the stand for the birdbath. The bell has a very deep heavy sound. It is also very heavy, probably 10 pounds. It kept tipping the hooks over, so I hung it from the swingset beam.
This is not all of them, I still have a big box of bags of them stored. As I find more garden hooks, I can hang up more of them.
We have a constant westerly wind here, so they make a lot of music throughout the day and night.
This is fantastic. It must be magical.

When they were all up, on the catalpa, you could tell how strong the wind was by what ones you were hearing. I've got about 2/3 of them up, I think. But the wind is different now, with the trees gone, and where they are located, so I will have to learn them all over again.
But on a breezy day, they were so pleasant to hear.
