How To Process a Turkey, Or the Way We Do It

in homesteading •  7 years ago

This is how we process turkeys. This year we tried a five gallon bucket to hold the turkeys so we didn't have to sit on them while they bled out.

I have to say, you made pretty quick work with this task.
Not sure I could do it, but if in a situation where I needed to, I would suck it up and get it done.
My husband is more of the gutting or field dressing of deer, etc

It's amazing what we can do when we have to. I don't normally do the gutting part of it, because with chickens my hands are too big to get into the body cavity. It is truly amazing how quickly a livestock animal can go from walking around to looking like you could buy it from a store. Thanks for the comment.
