Fresh Spring Water --- Frisches Quellwasser

Once a week we visit a spring in the forrest to get about 50 l fresh spring water for drinking. After experiencing the difference in taste and quality, tap-water is no longer an option for us. Besides taste and quality there is the nice advantages of no costs and no garbage ;-)

Einmal in der Woche besuchen wir eine Quelle im Wald, um etwa 50 L frisches Quellwasser zum Trinken abzufüllen. Nachdem man den Unterschied in Geschmack und Qualität einmal erlebt hat, kommt Leitungswasser nicht mehr in Frage. Außer Geschmack und Qualität gibt es noch den Vorteil, dass es nichts kostet und keinen Müll produziert ;-)

Most of the old folks in the Seven Mountains still know all of the springs around here - and many of them still get their drinking water from the springs. More and more younger ones are starting to pick the habbit up though, too. Having tried the water at our place, friends and relatives are joining us on our "fetching water" afternoons.... The kids are playing in the forrest while we are patiently filling the 5 l bottles - in between running around the trees, they come for a drink of the freshest spring water :-)

Die meisten Alten im Siebengebirge kennen noch alle Quellen, die es hier gibt - und viele von ihnen holen bis heute ihr Trinkwasser von den Quellen. Auch immer mehr junge Leute fangen an diese Angewohnheit zu übernehmen. Wenn Freunde und Verwandte hier bei uns das Wasser probieren, begleiten sie uns schon bald auf unseren "Wasser holen" Nachmittagen.... Die Kinder spielen im Wald, während wir geduldig die 5 L Flaschen füllen - zwischendurch wird das Rennen um die Bäume unterbrochen, für einen Schluck frischestes Quellwasser :-)

Another amazing circumstance are the conversations happening while being at the spring. Usually there is someone already there getting water upon our arrival - and most of the time at least another one (often more) will be "standing in line" for his turn. I have so far never seen anybody occupied with a phone or other technical device while waiting.... We talk - even if we meet for the very first time. And the conversations have depth and meaningful content... Anyone coming there has the time to take time :-)

Ein weiterer erstaunlicher Umstand sind die Gespräche die am Rande der Quelle entspringen. In der Regel ist schon jemand dort wenn wir ankommen - und meistens kommt dann mindestens einer (oft auch mehrere) die sich "einreihen" bis sie an der Reihe sind. Bisher gab es noch niemanden, der während des Wartens mit dem Handy oder anderem technischen Gerät beschäftigt war. Wir reden - selbst wenn wir uns zum ersten Mal dort begegnen. Und die Gespräche haben Tiefe und bedeutsamen Inhalt... Jedweder, der dort hinkommt hat Zeit sich Zeit zu nehmen :-)
