2nd Homesteading: How to cook Tinunoang Bagongon (Sea Shell with coconut milk) and a Short Update to my Chicks

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello there Steemit People!!

Last September 21 I’ve posted about raising my chicks for my homesteading. It was a fun experience to tell you the truth mate!!

For today's homesteading let me share with you something delicious that Philippines has to offer then after this one, a short update for my chicks.

This dish is called Tinunoang Bagongon, Tinunoan came from “Tuno” means “coconut milk” and Bagongon is a sea shell that can be found in muddy estuaries. This dish gives a creamy with a sea taste to our palette. A mouthful dish for any time of the day indeed.

Here are the ingredients of the dish

Garlic- 3 Cloves
Half Onion – Medium Size
Ginger – 10 grams
Tomatoe – 2 Medium Size
Salt
Msg

Coconut Milk- 500 ml.

Sea Shell- Half Kilo

Now, here is how you cook the dish.

First sauté the the garlic then the ginger, onion and tomato on a hot oil.

When you can smell the aroma of the said ingredients put the Bagongon. Cover the pan and wait for a couple of minutes, I think a 3 minutes is enough.

Then pour the coconut milk. Let it boil for 6 to 8 minutes.

Lastly put some salt to taste. I add Msg. to the dish to have that Umami flavor.

Now, serve the dish!! Let’s eat!

After the lunch, I fed my chicks that I posted last September 21, look at these cute beings! For just couple of days they're getting bigger and bigger mates!!!
