It's been a month since the last Homesteaders and Preppers on steemit list, and in that time we've now reached 230 members.
That's not quite the 250 I was hoping for but the extra 25 people is still a monthly growth rate of over 10% - that's not too shabby!
While some homesteaders and preppers have gone dark over the past few weeks, others have sprung into life to take their place.
And I do think the quality of the posts and comments from the homesteaders and preppers that are still active is getting better all the time.
There is still strong networking going on amongst the community both online in steemit and the various Slack and Discord channels - and also offline. I heard only this evening of two members of the homesteading community who had met up today at a poultry swap in the US north west. An egg-cellent result 😎
For my part the big news is that I will shortly be launching a radio show on MSP Waves Radio.
The show will be on Thursdays 8pm - 10pm UTC (9pm - 11pm UK time).
It is going to be called Pennsif's (Alternative) Lifestyle Show and will be covering a whole range of topics including :
- homesteading
- prepping
- homeschooling
- tiny houses
- complimentary medicine
- alternative energy
- cooking, particularly low meat, vegetarian and vegan
- permaculture and organic gardening
I've already found a couple of people who are keen to help with the show - @geordieprepper and @rakkasan84 - but I am still looking for more. I am particularly keen to find more people to come on the show as guests - it will be a great way to promote yourself and the projects you are involved with. Post a comment below if you are interested.

@pennsif thank you for taking the time to compile this list periodically. I was reviewing the list of people and went to about 4 that was happy to see on the list but saddened as they had not posted in over 3 months. I had remembered some great content from these folks. Also, if you would like a Canadian Growing perspective on your radio show I would be happy to contribute, as we do truly have a very different short growing season with only 2.5 months of summer, just putting it out there. edit: I am in for Florida ...we do grass fed, organic everything, cows goats organic co-op, shipping container house project. ( We had the eminent domain meeting last Friday.) What a mess, hopefully we will know for sure by April of next year..in the mean time we can not sell or do anything until they come up with a final plan and even then they could still come take the land...grr! Government!

Ahh ...that was sweet, thank you for asking, just have not been in the mood...kind of weird...I guess the reward ratio was a bit off for me ...like most probably, I will still try to do a few article here and there and i feel I should vote....Now that my feet are mended ...i find myself with so very little free time and so many chores to get caught up on...We also did a mini trip and I did one to see my friend and daughter also...Once again, thank you for inquiring.
