Homesteaders & Preppers on steemit - heading towards 300 by the new year? v11 [23 Dec '17]

It is a month since the the last Homesteaders and Preppers on steemit list.

That month has seen a quite dramatic change in the steemit landscape with first the price of SBD rising dramatically and then in the past couple of weeks a tripling in the price of steem.

This price increase has been followed by a healthy rise in the number of active users on the platform.

Alongside all this upward activity the number of homesteaders and preppers on steemit has grown by another 15 to a total of 278.

The past month has been particularly busy for me in my day job so I haven't been able to spend so much time scouting around. I'm sure therefore there are quite a few more homesteaders and preppers out there on the platform that I have missed.

With one more big push over the next 8 days I wonder if we could reach 300 by the new year.

There's the challenge. Go find the homesteaders, go seek out the preppers. Post in the comments anyone missing from the list and I'll add them in.

Let's see if we can make 300.

As part of compiling this list I follow everyone that I add to it. I posted yesterday about my Festive Season Giveaway for all my followers so if anyone wants to follow me back they will get a visit over the next week with a nice little upvote.

Meanwhile much has been happening in the Homesteading and Prepping Community on steemit.

@knowledge-seeker has launched a Homesteaders Photography Contest.

@goldendawne has been doing an awesome job meeting and greeting new homesteaders, gardeners, permaculturalists and the like and welcoming them to the Homesteaders Online Discord server.

@beatitudes and @goldendawne have continued with their weekly seed giveaways.

As one of @fulltimegeek 's Stewards of Gondor @goldendawne has been spreading the curation love amongst homesteaders, and far beyond, to give a great boost to all minnows out there. She has also been popping up on a Secret Santa mission as well.

@em3 has launched the @healthy-home curation account geared towards homesteading, gardening, personal food production and everything pro-family.

It has also been great to welcome back @kiaraantonoviche after a little break. Her Homesteading Challenges and Weekly Homesteading Newsletter are now back in full swing.

@frugallady has been raising funds for @daddykirbs 's son Luke under the #LovingLuke tag

I've been keeping busy with two new puppies, two lost chickens, running a #futurechronicles 2050 writing contest, organising a first Wales steemit meetup, getting ready to launch my Alternative Lifestyles show on @msp-waves Radio in the new year, and just today launching a new mentoring project.
