In my reading of places to go while staying in Hong Kong, I came across several blogs and online articles mentioning Tai Long Wan as being their "all time favorite" beach around Hong Kong.
This video shows the journey from Kowloon to the New Territories to the start of the hike in Chek Keng to get to the beach.
I take the Subway from Kowloon and then take a minibus, a big bus and a boat. If you go during the week, there are only 2 ferries from Wong Shek Pier to Chek Keng (10:35 and 16:55) otherwise plan to spend the 150HK dollars for a private boat or get off bus 94 at Pak Tam Au Tseun stop (and walk 1-2 hours to Chek Keng in instead; covered in following video)
If you are visiting Kowloon or Hong Kong, definitely take a trip outside to explore the islands or the New Territories because the subways and buses provide convenient and affordable service to most places so you cannot get too lost.
