I'm here again to explain and delve into the world of this immense project and its complexity can not be considered a negative thing because its composition is derived from an earlier project in this case ZenCash. In the previous article I wrote a brief introduction with the purpose of captivating and encouraging you to research and immerse yourself in the information world of Horizen successor project and if you did not read the previous article access the image below:

Why did you mention the previous article? I intend to write and divide this series to detail and encourage you more and more not only to join, to buy but to be part of the community and to give more and more use to this coin and I believe that the team would be honored with you in the community. Voting on the main subject of this project the topic that I will address is about nodes considered Horizen by-product, but why sub-product? Horizen is formed and compacted in several by-products and in the image you will understand better.

In continuity I will comment on Secure Node and Super Node the other by-products will be highlighted and mentioned in the next article. Before the launch of ZenCash Horizen base the team was faced with a problem that could compromise the gears and structure of the project, after all what good is having a product without any use? Thinking about this project the challenge would be to create something useful, beneficial and safe for the consumer / investor. So what was the strategy? Before mentioning the strategy we should know about the technology of cryptocurrency and without many details blockchain is an advanced technology and with almost infinite potential creating variants next of variants.

So knowing this aspect of utility and security, the strategy of success comes down to a secure network without vulnerability to attacks or blocking mechanisms. In summary, Horizen is a symbolically hybrid network consisting of zk-SNARK-based shielded transaction and encryption of communications between nodes.

This system of nodes found in the Horizen project has a different purpose from other node systems and is used as more than just a proof of participation. The differential of this system is the additional security requirements that complement the privacy protocol and ensure that network-to-network communication is encrypted. Another important aspect is a feature that provides a secure, private, resilient end-to-end ecosystem for users around the world.

The basic requirements of Secure Nodes are:

• Maintain a minimum of 42 ZEN in transparent address per node. Demonstrates the operator cares enough about Horizen to own some.

• Create and maintain a valid TLS certificate from a known Certificate Authority. This enabled encrypted data transport.

• Run the node on a server with enough processor and memory so that it can meet a computational challenge. This protects against DDoS attacks.

• Maintain a full copy of the ZenCash blockchain. This makes sure no UTXO’s or commitments are lost.

• Keep the node up and running at least 92% of the time.

Technically Horizen Secure Nodes employ specific enhancements, over and above a standard blockchain node infrastructure, in order to overcome these weaknesses and do not function like a standardized node or masternode.

This node system can be considered an evolution to the previous system or also as a technological advance of the project. Finally, the Super Nodes will be in charge of managing the main functions of the network and the system, showing high capacity as hosting several services in side chains, tracking and measuring the time of activity of the secure node and queuing the schedule of payment of the node for the miners something important and necessary in the present day.

The basic requirements of Super Nodes are:

• 500 ZEN
  In transparent address per Super Node.

• RAM Memory
  8GB of RAM memory or more.

• 96% Reliability
  Keep the node up and running at least 96% of the time.

• Mulitiple CPU Cores
  To achieve less than 150 second challenge times.

• Storage Capacity
  100 GB of storage capacity or more.

In short, Super Nodes is responsible for much of Horizen by-product technology system. So Super Nodes allows two important improvements to the ecosystem of the same. The first is to allow the tracking and payment of secure nodes to be moved in the chain or in the protocol, which is a big change from the current management, which is done through clusters of external servers. The second is to provide the infrastructure needed to implement Side Chaining, which moves Horizen from pure cryptocurrency to an application-ready platform on which an unlimited set of services can be built.

Remembering that comparisons are not to highlight which system is best but rather to show options that may interest you regardless of your financial structure and personal interest. However again this article can be considered introductory and a summary of the story of Horizen, but why not write in a technical and complex way?
