When you see slime pouring out of a vent, you must know that this might mean some thing is VERY appetized by the mere thought of seeing a warm blood-sac like yourself happen underneath it.
Therefore, instead of slithering past said vent, JUST WAIT. Wait for 10 minutes if you have to. Wait for it to roam SOMEWHERE ELSE. ANYWHERE ELSE.
...And then creep forward an inch or two. But do so only once the heavy, bass-ridden footsteps have wandered far enough away that the baby's toys can no longer rattle by your feet.
...but please, just wait. But don't wait for too long, because even if the footsteps don't return in the next clock's tick or two, they'll always haunt your dreams.
