Turning To Twinkies In Times Of Panic

They might not be the healthiest food option on the shelves, but they're still loved by many.

And the recent coronavirus scare has had more people reaching for not only toilet paper, canned goods, or diapers, but also for their beloved comfort snacks like Twinkies.

"We are seeing [that more are buying].... We are benefiting likely in the short-term due to traffic. That’s the great thing about Hostess, we are there to celebrate things. We are there to comfort things. So we are seeing a slight uptick in traffic. It’s too early to tell, a lot of our point of sale data lags.”- Hostess Brands CEO A. Callahan

The self quarantine might be a little much for some to deal with.

We've seen that some cruise ships have even been bringing on counselors recently, to help their passengers deal with the latest quarantine that they've been going through.

The mental struggle for them that might come along with that, the uncertainty, anxiety, doubt etc.

It's the small things that might bring people the most joy during this time.

And yes, it might be something as simple as a Twinkie.

"When anxiety rises because we’re facing a distressing threat like the new coronavirus, we need to focus on what tends to work for us to ease anxiety — that, plus doing a little bit more of some actions and a little bit less of others.... Keep these thoughts in mind. You’re fully prepared to help yourself. You can take steps to calm and steady yourself. Remember what works for you — because as fellow humans we’re not so dissimilar, but we do tend to have our own preferences and best practices." - Dr. J. Sharp, psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School

I guess people will buy potato chips too

Twinkies are a must. 🤣

And a twinkie will last a thousand years in the same condition as when it came out of the factory, no mold, shrinkage, or look.........Nothing says food more than a preservative filled junk food item off the shelf.

I've never been a twinkie fan but I did buy four boxes of Little Debbie Honey Buns in case we are stuck at home for two or so weeks. They're my guilty pleasure.

Waiting impatiently for you to do new post on Reggaesteem

maybe one coming soon 😜 ✌️
