SNOWBIRDS

Two and a half months ago, when I felt the beginning of winter weather coming in Canada, I jokingly (but kind of seriously) said "Well...that's my cue to leave!"

Naturally, growing up with a body where in cold weather, the spine seizes and the extremities go numb (total contraction), you could imagine why I prefer warmer climates.

Today, I truly surprised myself seeing that not only would I stay in Mount Shasta this long, well into her winter, but to wake up today to several feet of snow...getting the strong desire to go out for a hike, and half way throughout, intentionally fall back into several feet of snow, laying there in complete bliss. Complete peace. Completely in the present moment.

It's moments like these, that measure my progress on my journey back to the true self, pure present awareness, total expansion.
