Communication in a grid down scenario will be done with 2way, single side band or ham radios(Baofeng)

One of the most important homesteading skillsets is developing communications with your neighbors and family if the grid or cell system goes down.

I started by learning how to use the Baofeng radios which are dual band ham radios but can be used with the public frequencies.

Later my role in the community expanded and I started doing a bi-weekly "Network Chat"

Hundreds of people in my area are now equipped with these Baofengs and many participate in our network communications.
