We spoke about the HPE Discover More event in Milan only a few days ago, concentrating on the increasing significance of edge computing for businesses of all sizes. No new products or solutions have been presented on this occasion, which are instead the protagonists of the Discover Las Vegas event taking place in the glittering city of Nevada these days.
HPE's hybrid cloud strategy The industry has responded well to the implementation of HPE's composable facilities: the flagship solution, HPE Synergy, has seen annual development of 78% and is now used by over 3,000 clients. It is a software-defined infrastructure based on the Blade server that enables the user to decrease the time needed to deploy the application, simplify IT infrastructure management and, automating a sequence of procedures and improving the effectiveness of the IT team, also enables significant infrastructure savings, a good 25 percent according to HPE.
During Discover Las Vegas HPE announced that HPE ProLiant DL 360/380/560 servers will also be "converted" into composable infrastucture devices, thus protecting already made investments in the acquisition of these devices.
HPE's portfolio of composable solutions is also enriched with fresh storage alternatives that now support HPE SimpliVity, a hyperconvergent enterprise platform intended to accelerate application performance, enhance effectiveness and resilience, and back up and restore virtual mac, in relation to classic HPE and software-defined storage solutions VMWare vSAN.
Even SimpliVity has been updated and now contains HPE InfoSight, a system based on artificial intelligence that promotes virtual machine management by network administrators.
HPE simplifies edge implementation The accessibility of low-cost sensors and information management solutions has given the IoT world a significant boost, particularly in the industrial sector. At the time, however, it is not a walk to implement such infrastructures: you have to cope with even extreme weather conditions, take into consideration any connectivity issues of the most distant facilities and the on-site staff's expertise, not always properly trained on fresh techniques.
HPE has set itself the objective of simplifying the application of this form of solutions and has established partnerships with some manufacturing partners to deliver particularly easy-to-install turn-key edge-to-cloud alternatives.
Through collaboration with ABB, the Aruba Access Points integrate the ABB Ability Smart Sensors, which measure key parameters from the industrial equipment surface and enable significant information to be obtained on the equipment's conditions and performance, simplifying the maintenance process.
The partnership with Microsoft has resulted in the growth of HPE Edgeline IoT Quick Connect, which simplifies the convergence of operating technology (OT) with IT. HPE Edgeline IoT Quick Connect is based on the Edgeline OT Link Platform, which enables you to connect EdgeLine EL300 servers to the industrial machinery of Microsoft and Azure IoT cloud to monitor them more effectively.
HPE has implemented Fast Start Condition Monitoring to help businesses that do not yet have the abilities to handle complicated industrial control systems, an end-to-end package supplied by HPE Pointnext that provides all the hardware and knowledge required to set up the tracking solution.
HPE Greenlake: The HPE portfolio will be accessible as SaaS within 3 years The most unexpected announcement linked to the business model of the Discover Las Vegas case. HPE has announced its plan to distribute all its products and services as a service model that is increasingly common. HPE already provides countless SaaS alternatives, the HPE Greenlake, an approach that satisfies the company with its 99% renewal rate and is presently the fastest increasing business within HPE: more than 600 clients have already signed agreements totalling $2.8 billion. With an annual growth of 275 percent, HPE could only concentrate on Green to such an extent that the SaaS model will be expanded to all HPE portfolio products by 2022.
"We are at a turning stage in the industry"-said Antonio Neri, President and CEO of HPE-" Everyone acknowledges that clients need technology supplied as a service, but they want to do so in accordance with their regulations. It is thanks to HPE's distinctive attitude to the notion of service, which ensures the client complete liberty of selection, flexibility and control when HPE Greenlake has acquired acquiescence.
