Huawei has entered into an agreement with the Dutch company TomTom to be able to use its maps to create mobile applications. Tom Tom Tom himself has made this known, according to sources from the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
The move follows the dispute between Huawei and the Trump administration, which has made it difficult for the Chinese company to use Google apps and services on new smartphones since last May.
TomTom's digital maps and navigation software will support the applications built for Huawei Mobile Services (Hms), an alternative to Google's network of apps and services, to which the Shenzhen giant has reported a billion dollar investment in recent months.
