I think people would be far happier if they strove towards contentment or peace than just happiness or whatever. If your main goal in life is to just be happy, what happens when you get there? There is no place to go but down. If you are striving for contentment, then you get to experience all of the highs and lows while still having that safe middle ground you can always return to. That is my thinking anyway.

That’s a pretty wise perspective. I never thought of it that way, but it’s certainly accurate.

@rok-sivante, In my opinion Human Beings are in a way inspired and tuned to create a Belief System for themselves and beyond this system they cannot think off.

But the reality is, we can switch our Emotions and State Of Mind whenever we want without any doubt.

Have a wonderful time ahead and stay blessed.

But the reality is, we can switch our Emotions and State Of Mind whenever we want without any doubt.

That might be your reality, though not the reality of 7 billion other people on this planet.

Life isn’t all peaches & roses for everybody. We never know what another’s journey entails. Shit happens that can leave deep painful scars, and/or different people can go through different territory we know nothing about. Changing emotions/state on-command sounds like a wonderful ideal, but sometimes such heavier energies take a lot longer to process. Grief can’t be rushed. Sometimes depressions take a natural course wherein attempting to move through them too fast would deprive one of necessary lessons. Our desires don’t always override the mechanics of universal law, and what we want really doesn’t fucking matter sometimes when facing reality.

Wonderful belief system if it works for you. Though for many others, attempting to live by such a philosophy would equate to shoving shit under the rug and living in denial, without having developed the actual capacity to process through the emotional waves passing through - all happy on the surface, with ticking time bombs brewing beneath because they wanted a shortcut to happiness rather than sit in the discomfort & acceptance of what is.

Thus, the danger of propagating such “be happy on demand” mentality, which may be just an effective coping mechanism as addictions that seek to numb pain with temporary highs - only scratching the surface of the conscious, while what lies beneath stays unaddressed - until eventually it cannot.

There are organic time cycles to seasons that egoic desire to alter could end up doing more damage than good, attempting to rush to certain harvests and pull up certain fruits before the timing is correct...

I meant that Our Mind is Solution. And at the end of the day how we are Tuning it, it depends upon particular Individual. But yes, we cannot force ourselves to act someway for too long if we are not feeling it at all. Stay blessed.

I’d contend that the mind is more often than not the problem.

However, I’m curious to better understand your perspective...

I am putting my perspective in this example.

For example, One individual saying to self that from tomorrow i will not going to eat Junk Food. But tomorrow arrives and he is failing to stop his urge and he starts eating Junk Food.

In my opinion here perspectives of both of us fulfilled and by that i mean, At least for few hours that individual tuned his mind to act in some way. But he failed to force it because still he is not feeling his decision because he like to eat Junk Food, until he feel to do it, he cannot act do it for so long.

I don't know how well I've put my perspective, but hope that it's making some sense. Stay blessed brother. 🙂
