This isn't easy for me to admit
I got a fire inside and some words I can't keep in
Herdsmen now rear the heads of men
Carelessly brutalizing his victims without a conscience
Oh Nigeria
Your farmlands are overflowing with the blood of the innocent
Your flag is painted red via the instrumentality of this bloodshed
Tell me
Where do the weaklings run to for strength?
Who do the widows and fatherless turn to for refuge?
Children now turned orphans... Wives now turned widows
Our anthem is now being sung with the voice of sorrow
OH Mother Nigeria
You have breastfed us with lies
Leaving us to choke with the venom incinerated within
Your son's are raised via the ways of unrepentant bitterness
For how long do we sit and subscribe to this wickedness
How long do we dance to the tune of death
For my feet are heavy and weary to respond to its rhythm
The dead now rules the living
That's why death resides in the offing
Our day are more dreadful than the night
'Co's the terror of the night freely governs the day
The hills are resounding the cries of the beheaded
The valleys are patiently waiting for vengeance
And the mountains are overfilled with bows of revenge
It is time to sit up Mother Nigeria
Adjust your wrapper and tend to your responsibilities
Don't rest till the earth has yielded to your stomping feet
And there is peace... Even to those who lie down six feet.
