Pre-Suasion - A Revolutionary way to Influence and Persuade (Advanced Topic)

This is an excerpt from the introduction to "Pre-suasion" by Robert Cialdini.

Mind you, this kinda stuff is a bit beyond me right now, I'm still working on the basics. Eye contact, Active Listening, Body Language, ect. However, it's on a reading list I got from a friend who's been sharing some of their resources on Social Skills. Everything they have shared has been amazingly useful. So I decided to give the introduction a browse while I was on a smoke break from steemit.

While I was reading the intro kinda blew me away, and in celebration of #humanrelations I figured I could make a post to go in it. a small post, not super original content. However, you might enjoy checking this book out some day. I'm sure that many of the most influential business people in the world have.

If nothing else, why not know what techniques are being used to persuade us.

Researchers have been applying a rigorous, scientific approach to the question of which messages lead people to concede, comply, and change. They have documented the sometimes staggering impact of making a request in a standard way versus making the identical request in a different, better-informed fashion. Besides the sheer impact of the obtained effects, there is another noteworthy aspect of the results: the process of persuasion is governed by psychological laws, which means that similar procedures can produce similar results over a wide range of situations.

And, if persuasion is lawful, it is--unlike artistic inspiration--learnable.

Maybe I'll write a little book report on it, but as I said, I'm still on the basics and will probably return this to the library until I have time to read it. I've been doing research for my next post which will be about Eye Contact. How to make it, when, why, and when not. That one is going to take a while, because I'm doing my research from scratch. I don't have many good resources to work from, so I'm just searching the web. I'll have it ready by the end of the weekend.
