Jesus and the humility: When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor. Luke 14:8

Upon leaving the region of Galilee and heading to Jerusalem, Jesus left important teachings to enter into the Kingdom of God, the empire or dominion of the divine perfections, among them the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:29-37) that summarizes all the morals and ethics of the gospel.
And to deepen the example of the Good Samaritan, during an important meal in the house of a Pharisee, who was probably Nicodemus or Joseph of Arimathea, Jesus taught an important parable about the virtue of humility.
With this parable, Jesus took up some teachings from the sapiential books that warn about the danger of pride, this vice is considered in the Christian faith one of the seven capital sins, and as such a source of the other sins. The virtue of humility, which is opposite to pride, avoids unnecessary conflicts and makes men similar to Jesus, thence the importance of this virtue.
This is how the Gospel of Luke relates how Jesus, seeing that the guests at this important meal were looking for the first places, told them with wise words:
"When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ´Give this person your seat.´ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ´Friend, move up to a better place.´
Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." Luke 14:8-11.
With this simple story, Jesus showed the path to excellence and called his disciples to follow it.
