Environmentalists from the Netherlands calculated that the country's inhabitants annually leave on the streets more than 6 billion cigarette butts. Part of their filters is cellulose acetate, which decomposes 10-12 years and contaminates the soil. Utilities are working properly, but the creators of the project Crowbar decided to use in cleaning and even crows.
Dutch designers Ruben van der Vleuten and Bob Spikman has offered to train crows to pick up cigarette butts on the streets. They designed the machine for Autonomous learning of bird called Crow Box that gives the birds peanuts in exchange for a sacrificed bull.
However, designers still find it difficult to answer the question as the collection of cigarette butts will affect the health of the winged janitors.
Automatic feeder Crowbar gives the bird food in exchange for a cigarette butt thrown in a special container. Top the process of observing a camera that detects debris. The device is ready and waiting for testing in the field.
Scientists claim that such a complex skill is enough to train one bird, and the rest will follow her, studying "geometric progression". Ravens are the smartest birds, because the Dutch enthusiasts are counting on the success of the project.
