  A high school teacher decided to teach his student the work ethic. He arranged to have the student help him dig a couple of small trenches in a local park. On the appointed day, they went to the park. The teacher took a shovel he was carrying and briefly showed the student how to dig a small trench. Then he asked the student to dig one. The student complied. When the student finished digging the trench, the teacher asked him to dig another and still another after that. After the student had finished digging several small trenches he stopped. He asked the teacher a question.

“Why am I doing all of the work and you are just watching?” He asked the teacher.
“That is because I am supervising you.” replied the teacher.
After another hour had passed and the student had dug several more small trenches, the teacher told him to stop.
“What did you learn from today?’ He asked the student.
“I learned the meaning of a new word.” replied the student.
“Is the word work?” The teacher asked in eager anticipation.
“No, “said the student the word is supervisor.
“Supervisor?” asked the teacher with a puzzled look on his face.
“Yes,” said the student.
“Supervisor, I do all the work, you just watch and you get paid more than me, supervisor.” The student continued
