Hydro-Québec announced Tuesday it will send about 125 workers to Atlanta, Georgia, to help workers in the city restore electricity after Hurricane Irma.
"We are going to send 50 teams, so 50 trucks representing about 125 workers," said Serge Abergel, Head of Public Affairs and Media Relations at Hydro-Québec, in an interview with Agence QMI.
These workers, who will leave Wednesday morning, are expected to spend about ten days in the Atlanta area, where 714,000 people remained without electricity on Tuesday afternoon.
Hydro-Québec workers had been ready since Sunday to visit the United States to help their colleagues restore power. However, the State Corporation had still not received a request before that of Georgia, which returned at around 1 pm on Tuesday.
