Moonscape on Earth.

Hrossaborg, the crater in Mývatnsöræfi, lies at the edge of the northern Highlands desert in Iceland. The name means “Horse Fortress” in this context, referring to its past use as a holding pen for horses.

The landscape here looks and feels alien. Long before NASA went Woke and altered its focus from engineering to ‘social justice,’ it sent the Apollo crew to this area from 1965-1967 to train for the moon mission. (See photos and video of Neil Armstrong and others.)

Hrossaborg was featured in the movie Oblivion. A video clip of the location shoot is attached below.
