While photographing my intended subject the other night I turned around and saw this scene. I quickly reoriented my tripod and waited for the next automobile to show up.
Part of what makes photography in Iceland so rewarding is this: you will seldom come away with the composition you hoped and planned for. But more often than not Nature will serve a Deus ex Machina for those nimble enough to use it.
