Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) are one of the fastest growing trends in 2017. I have my eye on one in particular. Cloud With Me launched their Ethereum based Cloud Tokens this week, and are ambitiously working towards building a new internet by decentralizing cloud services.
Putting this as simply as possible…
If you have redundant memory in any device, like your smartphone, tablet, computer, washing machine (yes, washing machine) etc, you can donate it to a Crowd Cloud. As you sleep, your idle devices will rent out what you’re not using. With everyone’s devices donating a little bit, a global “super cloud” will be created. Everyone will get paid in tokens for their donations, and everyone can use the super cloud at a fraction of the cost usually charged by giant cloud companies.

I have been working in the tech sector since I left college, and I have never felt so excited by an ICO before. Ok, maybe Bitcoin and Ether were exciting (if you bought in at the right time), but Cloud Token really feels like The Internet 2.0.
Think of the security… You won’t have to expose your web data to a “service provider” that’s ripe for hacking.
From their whitepaper:
Part of the power of the Ethereum platform is that it allows developers to create private blockchains that still retain the increased security, privacy, and distributed self-governance that the public platform permits. Also, I love that this isn’t a wait-and-see for token holders! It has real value right away. “It’s important that when people buy these tokens there will be liquidity and they can easily trade these tokens in any direction. In our case, the tokens are an immediate part of our operating business with existing cloud providers. Because the coin is not a theoretical construct, it is already going into direct usage as a payment method for our ongoing cloud services” Asaf Zamir - Founder and CTO.
Invest before the price of tokens sky rockets. This is one to watch.
