How do you verify,or attest, that you possess a certain skill or skill set that a potential employer or peer network is seeking for a job opening that you are interested in applying for?? How can you get a reputable, almost notary type of verification that comes with a proven track record or stamp that a notary public provides?? Nowadays, it’s standard to find falsified or incorrect contact and profile information for job seekers and identity verifying procedures. A study found out that more than forty percent of job applicant resumes contained inaccurate information and out of date data on potential job respondent applications. This issue can be effectively solved by implementing some form of reference checks for the job seekers out there. However, it’s hard to perform complete reference inquiries due to some obstacles in the form of many small and large problems. There is a Blockchain based Project that is coming into play, called SpringRole, which will attempt to solve this problem by building a Block Chain infused Ecosystem known as the SpringNetwork. The SpringNetwork is a smart contract-based Protocol for the transparent and immutable collection of the attestation of public identities and their co-parts. The SpringNetwork aims to significantly improve the truthfulness of the Identity Protection and Recruitment Industries by applying the transparent and immutable nature that Distributed Ledger Technology inherently provides.
When you sign up for SpringRole, you import or add your profile to the platform. This profile will include your work experience, education level and all yourself provided skill set descriptions. Each of these claims once uploaded to the SpringRole Ecosystem, will be independently verified and immutably stored on the SpringNetwork Block Chain which will be an encrypted form of your Identity, all verified and ready to be sent out to potential employers or recruiters.
Because attestation is the key of the SpringNetwork, I will talk about that feature first here. Attestation is a way of having information verified by the individuals who are in possession of the knowledge about the truthfulness of said information, or of the proof that the actual information itself is true or not. For instance, a candidate claimed that he or she has ever worked for Random Company X. An individual at Random Company X should be able to verify, or attest, that the applying person actually worked at Random Company X. The attestation Procedure is not limited to just a persons jobs they had in the past. It can include colleges attended, institutions they performed research at, companies involved with, and specific individuals they are associated with. The combination of some attestation procedures can complete the validity checks required for a candidate. This is where the SpringNetwork has stepped in and created a reputation system that can help attesting information given by applicants. These two key facets are used in conjunction when considering that some information is difficult to attest. Claims regarding education background and working experiences can be easily attested by respective institutions or with true or false attestation. However, verifying and validating claims of being excellent in a particular skill is not easy to attest. Therefore, SpringRole tries to tackle this problem by using the said two facets interchangeably.
It is not easy to perform attestation effectively due to some drawbacks of current attestation procedures. First off, most attestation procedures take way to time, money and other resources precious to firms. The industry lacks a practical generalized method that can reduce the amount of overhead costs seen in the current attestation processes, yet can maintain the truthfulness of the information being attested. In attesting education background, for example, an interviewer should be in contact with the administration professionals in their alma mater (college they graduated from) and ask the necessary questions, such as whether or not the candidate was enrolled at their college, during what time frame was the applicant enrolled, and what courses were taken by this applicant. The interviewer should, at a later time, confirm with another professional at said college regarding the applicants skills, if said applicant is trying to gain attestation of their skills with the interviewer. Firms can spend a considerable amount of time during the attestation procedures, which most of the time, is often longer than the interview itself. In order to address the aforementioned problems regarding the poor nature of current attestation procedures, the SpringNetwork has already prepared some mighty fine solutions. First, SpringRole creates a verified resume to use and ultimately share with the SrpringNetwork. The resume contains three categories of information educational background, work experience, and relative skills obtained from previous work experience. Once the information is attested, it will be immutably stored on their Block chain. The SpringRole Platform will use an endorsement to crowd sourced particular skill sets. In addition, the SpringRole Platform will implement organizational attestation to verify and validate professional details.
