What is VANTA?

VANTA is an intelligent network that will create low-cost real-time private data transmission in large scale. VANTA Blockchain & Consensus Algorithm

Because VANTA is a blockchain designed for processing real-time networking tasks, a new consensus algorithm is needed for effectively processing it. Previous consensus algorithms were based on Proof-of-Work or Proof-of-Stake and wasted compute power, and thus was unsuitable for use with VANTA. Therefore, VANTA aims to use the computing power and network resources of network nodes to be used for real-time networking, and merge proof for those tasks with block generation and consensus algorithms to create a consensus algorithm optimized for VANTA.

How does it work?

VANTA is P2P (peer-to-peer) network that uses ARKAS protocol. You can see the following participants in processing: a customer that requests the task as data storage, processing, transmission in real time. The node that gets that task first is considered as relevant task tracker and it verifies the request, manages worker nodes etc. Worker nodes are verified for randomness and are chosen relying on the largest size of VRF hash value. The worker node that starts the job becomes a primary worker. Secondary worker node is kept on hold and replaces the primary node if it encounters a problem. Verifier node confirms the job performance and provides proof of workload for the worker node. Proof of Networking or PoN is an algorithm used in VANTA. The reduction of cost and the increase of efficiency are achieved thanks to VRF (Verifiable Random Function) and PBFT
