Hi,
well, since I'm here on Steem the theme is how to bring more people and to make Steem attractive for new users.
Well, it might not have been the best approach or better said not the only available approach.
Another one would be to focus on business. Yes, businesses, new or traditional. We have some good examples like @steemmonsters, which is literally a good business case, thriving on Steem.
My question is how to approach business and make Steem appealing for them. I think big companies like the beverage ones can afford to buy 100000-999999 Steem easily at this price. They could give out votes for people posting picture with their product. If it is done for example on Appics, Instagram and Steem on the same time, even better. The advertising budget would be small, but more people would follow the business. It is easy to get rewarded to promote a product.
This would be one example on how to attract business. I think the idea of advertising shall be taken in account and the paid to advertise shall not be neglected.
Another idea would be to use the Steem blockchain as a special independent registry. Not for big data sets, but I can imagine that a small village can manage all it's properties via the Steem blockchain, where all the information for a property is kept. One account per property where all the information on the repairs for example is recorded or a reminder is triggered when the next maintenance round is due.
When SMT's are going to be available the tokens can be used as gift cards with no maintenance costs. Just keep Steem powered up and use the tokens. This tokens can be purchased offline and be distributed by the business owner. No transaction fees and the user can gift it to someone else.
There are so many possibilities on this chain, so my question to you is how to get more traditional business to sign up for the Steem blockchain?

On your first idea, it would have to be a smaller or niche beverage company, because big ones don't see further than Google Ads or Facebook Ads online. Or someone has to be very persuasive. I also saw at SteemFest a brewery game that aims to have small breweries as sponsors, to participate in the game.
On the SMTs as gift cards idea, this can be a way to offer a discount for any merchant, but also on vacation packages. I might expand on that because it seems a very interesting idea.
