The Japanese used-vehicle chain Idom recently entered into a partnership with the cryptographic service provider BitFlyer to enable the payment of cars by Bitcoin. Currently, the new payment option is limited to 26 branches, but it will soon be extended to another 550 Gulliver car dealerships.

Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Idom Inc. is engaged in the distribution of used vehicles. The company took over Gulliver International Co. and has been buying and selling cars since 1994. It claims to be a leader in retail car sales and volume. In addition, branches in the US and New Zealand are maintained. There is also a stake in the Australian company Buick Holdings Pty ltd.

The luxury cars of the Idom subsidiary Liberala can be paid from today up to a limit of 100 million yen (almost 750,000 euros) using Bitcoin. Liberala has 24 car dealerships all over Japan, selling high-priced cars of the Bentley, BMW, Audi & Co. brands. However, Idom also owns the used car chain Gulliver, which is represented everywhere in Japan with 550 branches. Thus, today's introduction is intended only as an introduction to an exclusive environment and as a first test run.

In the countries of the Far East, such as South Korea or Japan , the Bitcoin boom is unstoppable one way or the other, it seems.
