More than 55 percent of the waste in North America can be recycled. They include cardboard, glass, metal, paper, and plastic. Sub-Saharan Africa produced about 174 million tons of waste in 2016. By the year 2030, waste generation in sub-Saharan Africa is expected to triple and South Asia is expected to double.
