Apple announces the foundation of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, which takes care of the education of girls.
Apple does not cite any concrete figures, but Cupertino's help enables the Foundation to "double the scholarship awarded by its Gulmakai network and expand funding programs to India and Latin America with the initial goal of extending secondary education to more than 100,000 girls."
Apple does not act as a pure donor, but wants to help the organization with its technologies and curricula in their growth on the jumps. CEO Tim Cook also joins the Malala Fund Leadership Council.
Malala Yousafzai praises Apple for its philanthropy and for empowering people around the world to help with education: "I'm grateful that Apple appreciates the importance of helping girls and joins the Malala Fund to ensure that all girls learn and lead without fear.
