#1 Gold is Money

Gold has been money for 3000 years. Before traditional currency and "money" came along gold was used for the exchange for goods and services. Gold outlasts any currency that's ever been created. No currency lasts forever, history shows they all fail eventually. The oldest currency today is the British Pound and it's 1300 years old. If you follow history it's safe to say gold will outlast and still be around long after many more currencies come and go.

# 2 Gold Retains it's Value

Fiat currency loses its value over time, gold has out performed every currency that's ever been created. Dollars lose their purchasing power due to inflation and gold doesn't. If you save money in a bank it will lose value relative to gold.

# 3 Gold is a Tangible Asset

You can hold gold in your hand and it has real worth. Gold is indestructible, fire water and time won't destroy gold. Gold doesn't need food, fertilizer or water like commodities it requires zero maintenance. It can't be hacked and won't disappear if the power goes out. Gold doesn't tarnish in harsh environments and that's why it's used on shuttles and instruments that travel into space.

# 4 Gold is Private

If you own gold you're the only one that knows you have it. It can be bought and sold anoymously with zero paperwork required. There's no other investments that can say that. Even cryptocurrency is deposited into your bank account leaving a trail and exchanges that buy and sell them require you to register and provide your identity.

# 5 Gold Is Easily Transportable and Liquid

You can fit $10,000 in a single pocket and exchange it for any currency in any country on the planet. Everyone knows what gold is there's no guesswork. Gold is the gold standard of money, it gets a gold star for being as good as gold. Gold is worth its weight in gold but all that glitters is not gold, only gold is golden because gold is gold. Get it 😊 Everyone knows gold has worth it's ingrained in our speech.

# 6 Gold Is the Best Hedge You Can Buy

Gold protects your other investments. When the stock markets go down.. gold goes up, when the housing and property markets go down.. gold goes up, during any uncertainty on the planet gold goes up. Over history it's proved itself as a terrific hedge so why not add a bit of it to your portfolio to protect your financial well being?

# 7 Gold Will Save Your Life

When counties such a Venezuela and Greece faced economic uncertainty and their citizens couldn't access money gold literally saved lives. When hurricanes hit Puerto Rico and people couldn't access their money because they didn't have power gold fed and housed people. Having a small bit of gold could literally save your existence on this planet! People were actually turning down paper money but would exchange goods and services for gold.

# 7 Gold has Many Uses

Aside from being a store of value gold is used heavily in the technology sector. 78% of gold however is used for jewelry but the demands in the tech industry will one day outstrip what is being mined today. Due to the manipulation of the gold markets affecting it's price we're going to one day see a monumental increase in the spot price.

# 8 Gold is Beautiful

A perk to gold ownership is being able to hold and look at it. It's absolutely mezmerizing and that's why people have been wearing it since it was first discovered. Ancient gods were buried in it because it's so alluring. Paper money sucks, you can't really hold and appreciate cryptos but the beauty and history of gold speaks for itself, that's why people like myself collect it.

In Summary

Buy some gold. It can be bought in any city and town or even ordered right to your door. There's many different varieties of gold, from 24k jewelry to coins and bars that can be found at weights ranging from 0.5 grams and up. It fits everyone's budget so there really isn't any excuse for people that may think it's too expensive.

Right out of the fucking park GA!

After this excellent post I’m posting later with a new piece of the shiny!!!

Thanks GA! The importance of this cannot be overstated.

I don’t know what was more beautiful. The awesome pieces of gold that you were showing off or the way you eloquently described the many advantages to gold! We are lucky to be alive in a time when a man can make his own destiny with his talents and hard work. And being able to store them in a vehicle such as precious metals shows throughout the ages a family can improve and better their linage over time. Great post brother πŸ‘πŸΌπŸΊπŸ₯“

I guess I am going to have to become a stacker this year. Been putting it off long enough...

Nice article. I hold very little gold, mostly scrap jewelry and one very nice nugget my grandfather found on a claim in California. Once the gold/silver ratio comes back to Earth, I plan to switch a bit of my silver stack into gold.

I think we've seen gold break away from silver and who knows if it will return? I do personally feel silver is undervalued more but I'm no expert. I'm just a guy that loves metal. Thanks for reading!

Sell everything you have for gold! (and steem, don't you forget steem! 😈)

I will even perform sexual favors for gold. Just throwing it out there..

Especially to pretty young ladies I would guess?
Nice collection BTW. I just have silver rounds myself.

I'm indiscriminate about that actually. And I think I spelled that wrong but auto correct doesn't know what I was trying to say? Silver is golds little sister, it's also terrific, undervalued and has many more uses than gold has..plus it's beautiful aswell

Sorry, but I’d rather keep my Gold.

Lol if you happen to change your mind you know how to get ahold of me πŸ˜‚

Many many years ago a relative of mine won a certain game-show on live-television called Wheel of Fortune.
They actually made you choose in the end between getting your prize money in cash or in gold. I don't know if they still do that.

My relatives chose to pick the gold which would later then rise in value by quite a lot. In the end a very good decision.

What they didn't know though, was that even small scratches and other seemingly nondescript damages to the bar could've lowered the value by a substantial margin. Gold can be a dangerous game.

Wow that's a pretty cool story, I'd definitely take the gold! Also unless it was a rare collectible piece scratches, dents, spots, grizzly bear claw marks, bullet holes etc wouldn't make a difference in its value, all that matters when selling gold bullion is it's purity and weight. Trust me I know a thing or two about resale. That sounds like something a swindler would tell someone at a pawn shop or something? Thanks for checking out my post!

Thanks for rundown, it pays to remember the tried and true while the crypto market is exploding :-D

Well it's kinda exploding like diarrhea down the toilet right now. It'll rebound but in addition to cryptos one shouldn't underestimate the role gold plays in ones investment portfolio. Diversify your assets my friend

Lol every one wana own gold but from where he one...

Great point 😁

yeh it is nature of human. that he want every good thing to have but don't know how to get this..

My gold Queen's Beast 1 oz Red Dragon upped my stack 25% in 2017 and I hope I can catch up to the Average East Indian fanily's gold holdings in the next few years.

Great solid advice there my friend, can't go wrong with the yellow stuff. It's been the only inter-generational wealth transfer for millennia and I don't think it's about to change any time soon. I think you messed up with your count, you have two 7's, cheers mate.

Well I'm convinced πŸ˜€
