Mystical secrets: Immortality brings one near to God; so the desire for wisdom leads to a kingdom

Immortality in the time of Jesus was considered a mystical secret that only a few teachers possessed. For many kings and monarchs, immortality was a matter of state. Alexander the Great, who is mentioned in the Bible, not only conquered the Persian empire, but also sought immortality in all the kingdoms he conquered, the Bible describes what happened to him: "Then a mighty king will arise, who will rule with great power and do as he pleases. After he has arisen, his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the power he exercised, because his empire will be uprooted and given to others", Daniel 11:3-4.
Alexander the Great died young and his great empire was divided among his generals.
King Solomon explains to us that immortality is a return, a reward, that wisdom grants us; the gift of immortality also tells us this great sage, makes the greatness of the kings:
"The beginning of wisdom is the most sincere desire for instruction,
and concern for instruction is love of her,
and love of her is the keeping of her laws,
and giving heed to her laws is assurance of immortality,
and immortality brings one near to God;
so the desire for wisdom leads to a kingdom.
Therefore if you delight in thrones and scepters, O monarchs over the peoples,
honor wisdom, so that you may reign forever." Wisdom 6:17-21.

God is immortal and can transmit to us in a limited way on the physical plane, this divine attribute, immortality in practical terms in longevity, like that was achieved by the great patriarchs.
Only those who love wisdom receive the gift of immortality and its mystical secrets (eternal life). The rulers of the earth, explain the bible, they must seek first of all the wisdom to be blessed by God; riches and power, as happened to Alexander the Great, do not assure life; something that Jesus will later teach in his parables.
