If you are from India theṇ you ṁight know what's the life of an engineer would be in India, they can't even manage their livelihood.
There is the large population of engineers is a fact. You can't deny that.
Are students being forced into it? Yes.
Pay for fresher's is peanuts. You can't deny that.
But most of the students only go to college for fun and to get a B.Tech Degree and not to learn something. This the reason why there is so much fault in the construction process and this results in the death of many peoples.
But the quality of engineers, amount of knowledge and skills they possess about their 'chosen' field is a big question.
If you want to become an engineer, for you are really interested in making something new, you know calculus and you don't hate maths, if you want to do the smart work, if you can do the hard work, then you may become an exceptional engineer. Even in India.
Attendance is overriding knowledge: I personally experienced my time got killed when I was allowed to do nothing and just forced to waste my time in classroom when a teacher forced me to be in class just because she was ordered to do so and how can we shrug off the 75% Attendance yardstick this simply kills creativity. If someone like me wants to utilize time somewhere else rather than
scrutinizing useless subjects like Law and EVS but this fuck**g rule does not let me do so and that is the reason I have to hecatomb my late night sleep
Lack of Practical approach in assignments: You may be doing tonnes of lengthy assignments but you won’t know the real life tenor and that essence is lacking behind which kinda makes a student less motivated but some teachers do give useful assignments like our teacher Mr. Arun Kumar sir gave us
Practicals: We know how to do specific practical and its significance then what is the need of decorating that fucking practical record which simply contains readings and result. That can also be done in a printed manner in which already designed format should be there and it should go in a file where a student has to attach loose printed sheets. This will save a lot of time and will reduce stress.
Syllabus oriented mentality: There are only few teachers who care about your future but most of them are in hurry to complete syllabus and they are always ready to skip some important parts if there are curtailment of time. We all were bound to study syllabus till 12th standard but now please leave us free to learn everything so that we can expatiate on our sphere of knowledge.
Mediocre Everywhere: Types of people in Engineering:
- Forced to do engineering.
- Just stepped into it because their 12th score was high.
- Some of them want to have Er. Prefixed with their name.
- Rest of them are true engineers who really want to do something.
So scarcely you will find a few students who are innovative and if you have some kind of idea then it is a real struggle to find someone with similar interest.
I personally did not mean to disturb someone’s opinions/feeling but if you are a victim then I warned you in the beginning
Try to do a lot of practical stuff, try to understand concepts, try to have a passion or aim.
If you are looking for job security, then there is somewhat Jon security in engineering. You will not die hungry. :p There are a lot of IT jobs, for the least.
The world needs a lot of engineers and India would be providing them. So chill. If you are determined, determine what you love to do. And aim high.
