The infanticide's methods (baby girls diving in cold water, smothered in a terracotta pot, or In a plastic bag then throw at the landfill, poisoned with a toxic plant, or strangled. Ritual macabre : put a candy in the mouth of the baby and tell her « leave and send us a brother »)

Testimony about the violence that is growing towards girls (because they are rare):abduction of teenage girls, gang rape...).

A woman in India isn't a woman worthy of this name if she has a baby girl. She could be dissmissed by her husband and parents in-law, be beat, even killed. Doctors can do abortions thinking of helping women. The social and family pression is so strong that women are ashamed if they have a girl => regulary, baby boys are stolen in maternities, by women who are leaving their baby girls who are just be born.

Privats clinics propose « package » ( ultrasound + abortion of the fetus girl, for 5.000 to 10.000 roupies. Even poor people prefer spend money rather than having a daughter. Clinic's publicity (forbidden) : « Better to spend 5,000 roupies now than 50,000 roupies later to pay a dowry. »
The indian society is, since a long time, dominated by men. In countriside, a boy is considered as a workforce. Girls are seen as inferior and as an economic charge because their family have to pay a dowry.
