A huge date for India and the entire mankind !

As we were going to visit the unvisited section of the moon !

But how we reached to the object which was often referred in our poems when we were kids ??

Let's dig it through !

Well from a very long time we all have been very curious about what we are surrounded with and what or who are there with us in this vast universe. One of the first things that made us wander was The Moon.

And since then to feed our hunger of curiosity we have continuously developed great our knowledge about space science and have also conducted a ton of space exploration missions including many lunar missions.

There are many remarkable missions that were undertaken by pioneers of knowledge. The most famous bone being the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, as for the first time humans stepped on the moon's surface.

Till date only 3 countries have successfully deployed their rovers upon moon's surface which are USA , erstwhile Soviet Union ( Russia ) , China. Some other countries have also attempted but narrowly missed to make the might.

The most recent attempt was done by Israel in April 2019 which lost contact and crashed on moon.

India too has been actively working in the field of space research. The nation has successfully reached the moon with it's orbiter namely Chandrayaan - 1 in the year of 2008. Chandrayaan 1 was the founder of water on MOON !

And now in 2019 the next Lunar Mission of India is to land on the moon and that too at a place where noone else has attempted to land or even have seen it !

Yes, we chose the SOUTH POLE, the dark side of the moon to land !!

The Chandrayaan 2 was launched on 22 July from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India.

The purpose of this mission has two main parts one is the orbitor and the other is the lander Vikram along with Rover Pragayan.

The lander was successfully detached from the orbitor and as planned the lander was expected to soft land on moon's surface on 7th September, 2019 at 1:53 IST.

Each and everything was going the right way to get the prestigious tag of landing on moon and making India the 4th nation to do it in history.

Just 2.1 kms and 69 seconds before moon's surface, ISRO lost contact to the lander and stopped receiving signals from the spacecraft. The lander is heavily programmed and has A.I. feeded in it which is the only hope of the nation and can prove right as well. It is still possible that Lander Vikram might have had safely landed on moon and if we are able to regain contact, then it would be an huge achievement !

But the things we are completely sure about is the orbitor which is scheduled to oribit the moon for a year and will collect valuable data and is gonna open up many more unvisited mysteries of the unknown !

Definitely it took a lot of hard work to bring up this project in reality and we all are hoping for the best and praying that Vikram had landed safely and we will regain contact with our Rover :)

I am very proud of the scientists of my country who brought together intelligence, science, teamwork, innovation and 11 years of precise planning and dedication with complete Indian technology and resources !
