After the lockdown in various countries of the world, billions of people are confined to their homes and no one is allowed to buy essential items except medical emergencies.

But many people do not care about government sanctions which increase the risk not only to their own health but also to others.

A cow in Indonesia has solved it by hiring 'ghosts'.

The cows of Java Island are wandering around the streets of Kipoh nowadays to force people to stay indoors and protect against the Corona virus.

"We wanted to create something different and an impression that could frighten people," said Anjar Panchanthayiz, head of the village youth group.

The group, along with the police, has adopted this unique strategy to promote social distance, and it expects centuries-old fanaticism to confine people to homes.

Persons like mysterious ghosts dressed in white sheets are known locally as Pokong, for which they rub their faces and darken their eyes with coal.

Indonesia's folk tales contain ghost stories about how their souls were trapped on earth after death.

But this month, when these 'ghosts' appeared in the streets of the village, people were scared and forced to enter their homes.

In Indonesia, instead of a nationwide lockdown, the government is urging people to practice social distance and good hygiene.

But with the increase in mortality rates, some communities, such as the cows, decided to take measures to protect the people, which imposed restrictions on ghost patrols, lockdowns and cows.

So far, more than 484 cases and more than 450 deaths have been confirmed in Indonesia.

Researchers at the University of Indonesia estimate that if the restrictions on people's movement are not enforced, the number of cases in May may be 1.5 million and the death toll could be up to 100,000.

Residents of the village say that since the ghosts have appeared, parents and children have left the house, and are no longer together in the streets after a place of prayer or after Asha prayer.
