Sipiso Piso Waterfall is located around the northern edge of Lake Toba with an altitude of approximately 800 meters above sea level (asl) and is surrounded by a green hillside overgrown with pine forests. The height of this waterfall ranges from 120 meters to be crowned as the highest waterfall in Indonesia.
The name Sipiso-piso comes from piso which means a knife. The rushing waters falling from a hill above a hundred meters are likened to blades of sharp knives. In addition, the steep cliffs when viewed from the top of the hill make locals call it piso from Tanah Karo.
